Haralampi Popanastasov House

The construction of the two-story building, which was solely built for residential purposes, was executed in 1907 by a design that was created by an unknown architect. The building was built for the family of Haralampi Popanastasov, a well-known philatelists in the city of Kyustendil, brother of soldier Alexander Popanastasov. Haralampi had written a book about engineer , who created the first draft constitution of the Society of Nations, the future United Nations.

Haralampi was the husband of Anastasia Popanastasova, who was the daughter of Mito Chorbadzhigogev. Their son Yordan Haralampiev Popanastasov was a soldier in the Bulgarian military, and their son Anastas Haralampiev Popanastasov was married to Raina, with whom he had a daughter named Hristinka, and their daughter Elena Haralampieva Popanastasova was married to Captain Georgi Veselinov, who served in the 13th Rila Infantry and 14th Macedonian Infantry Regiment.

The most eye-catching feature of the building, which is built in the styles of Art Nouveau and Tudor, is the topped with a scaly sheeted on top of it. The roof overhang, as well as the parts where the Tudor style has been adapted, are both supported by multiple wooden . The building is richly decorated with all kinds of geometric shapes, which you can see between some corbels, as well as around the windows of the first and second floors.
