Sándor Kecskeméti Palace

The construction of the three-story building, which was built for the residential needs of the Hungarian merchant Sándor Kecskeméti, was completed in 1898. His grandfather Salamon arrived in Timișoara from , hence the Hungarianized name, the original name being Leviter. Salamon was an optician and founded the company in 1821, which was named Kecskeméti. Sándor, who was born in 1866 in Timișoara, completed four classes of the Royal School and from the age of 13 supported himself. He gained experience in at the electrical company B. Egger and Tsa. Upon the death of his father, Ignác Kecskeméti, in 1887, he took over the management of the company at the age of 21.

He was the owner of the Kecskeméti company from Timișoara and the factory of perfumery and hairdressing articles called Royal. He was among the best tennis players in town and won the gold medal in the first amateur photography competition. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and, for many years, the president of the Association of Merchants. His son Frantz specialized in the profession of optician and manager, after obtaining a doctorate in mathematics and physics at the University of Vienna.

The that separates that second from the first floor is curved in certain parts to make way for a containing a head of a man, which is surrounded by laurel twigs.
