Milan Zako House

The construction of the two-story building, which was built for the merchant Miloradović, took place in 1903. From the very beginning, the first floor of the building was used for commercial purposes, while the second floor was used for residential purposes. Before the , the owner of this magnificent building was the great prefect of Pančevo and Vrsa, Milan Zako. Milan Zako was born into a noble family from and got married to a rich girl from . He started practicing law in Pančevo in 1922, and for some time he was the mayor of Pančevo. On April 23, 1922, the inauguration of the French Club was held in his house. At that time, the entire house was at the disposal of the administration of that organization. The club rooms were decorated with greenery, and there were also sandwiches, tea, cigars, and a lot more.
The building during its construction
In the second half of the 20th century, the first floor of the building was in use as a knitwear store with the name Vesna. It was nationalized, with the exception of one multi-room apartment on the second floor, by the decision of the Pančevo Municipality Assembly dated October 12, 1959. Until recently, his descendants lived in one of the apartments on the second floor of this house.
