Marosvásárhely Steam Bath

The construction of the one-story building, which was built for community purposes and with a hygienic and health function, was completed in 1898 and opened its doors to the public in that same year. The steam bath was built according to the project of the engineer Andor Flesch in close proximity of the Turbina Bridge and the Bürger brewery, which was owned by . The steam bath housed several swimming pools of different temperatures, steam rooms, and showers. There was also a massage, manicure and pedicure salon, a hair salon, and even a restaurant and a cafe. During the in 1944, the steam bath was blown up by Nazi soldiers together with the bridge.

The gable roof of the atrium of the building, which was built in the Neo-Baroque style, contained a on each side. The building featured several domes, some of which contained dormers, and all of them were crowned with a . Some of the , which were used in the octagonally-shaped part of the building, were supported by . This part was embellished with , , and crowned with Corinthian a in contrast to the other pilasters which were crowned with Doric a capital. A was placed above the windows and in some cases a straight .
