Kogan's Pharmacy

The one-story building, which was constructed with a commercial function, was erected in 1897. It was built to house the pharmacy of the pharmacist Maximilian Mikhailovich Pautynsky, who received the certificate for his pharmacy from the then-mayor of the city, , on January 13, 1898. Maximilian Pautynsky was the owner of the pharmacy for just a short time. In subsequent years, Joseph Solomonovich Babich, and then the Kogan brothers, became the tenants and owners. The last owner of the pharmacy during the period of Tsarist Russia was Shimshon Aaronovich Kogan. The pharmacy remained in Kogan's ownership until 1940. In the summer of 1941, during the , it was partially destroyed, and after the war, it was decided not to restore the building.
The building in the 1930s
The corner of the building, which was built in the styles of Neo-Baroque and Eclectic, was determined by a hipped roof dome that was topped with both a and . Around the same height, there was an oval-shaped , as well as two decorative vases, a , and some . On top of the roof , there were balustrades containing , and below some parts of this cornice, there were and other ornamentation, including . The pointed were part of the roof cornice, and some straight pediments were placed above some of the windows, which were supported by two . The columns were crowned with a Corinthian , while the were crowned with a Doric one. A was placed above the circle-top windows and the main entrance door, of which the latter is surrounded by that contained a .
