The opening of the new building took place on December 28, 1890, and on that evening, a concert was held in a packed hall with the participation of prominent representatives of Sofia's elite. The building contained a lounge, community center, meeting room, buffet, and kitchen, but the lounge soon became insufficient and a new wing was added.
