The idea of constructing a ​​building to house a hospital in Murska Sobota appeared in the 1850s, which is attributed to the then-mayor of the town, Lajos Vimbusky. He strove to ensure that the inhabitants also received adequate medical care, and above all, a more accessible one. Until the start of the hospital's operation, they had to seek medical help in hospitals in , , or . The construction, which was executed according to the plans of the builder , began in 1892 and the hospital was opened the following year in 1893. At the time of its opening, the hospital had 4 patient rooms with 24 beds, and a main doctor named .

In 1903, a surgical department was added on the south side of the hospital, and in 1904, a second extension was added on the north side. In 1907, the Hungarian architect accepted the order to expand the hospital complex. According to his plans, in 1910, a building for infectious and trachoma patients, as well as an outbuilding, was built in the yard. During the , Austro-Hungarian soldiers were also treated in this hospital, and before the end of the , wounded soldiers of the Red Army. At the end of the Second World War, the hospital was in a very bad condition, so negotiations began on the construction of the hospital at a new location. According to the commission, the location of the hospital at that time was unsuitable and did not allow for additional expansion, so it was demolished, and in its place stands a modern office building.

The most distinctive feature of the building, which was built in the Neo-Baroque style, was the top gable, which was topped with a pointed that was crowned with a globe as a . Above the second floor windows, another pediment was placed, of which only one was supported by two , the one that's placed in the part of the building.
