Székesfehérvár, known colloquially as Fehérvár, is a city in central Hungary, and the country's ninth-largest city. It is the regional capital of Central Transdanubia. Székesfehérvár, a royal residence, as the capital of the Kingdom of Hungary, held a central role in the Middle Ages. As required by the Doctrine of the Holy Crown, the first kings of Hungary were crowned and buried here.

The historical center of the city features many Baroque and Neo-Classical buildings. The city also houses the Saint Stephen Cathedral and ruins of the Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which was one of the largest basilicas in medieval Europe. It also houses the Vörösmarty Theater, which is the oldest theater in the country.
