Vratsa is the largest city in northwestern Bulgaria and is situated at the foot of the Vrachanski Balkan Park. The park is part of the Balkan mountain range and is rich in caves, waterfalls, and beautiful rock formations. Vratsa is an ancient city found by ancient Thracians and is now home to one of the largest Thracian treasures discovered on Bulgarian lands, which is showcased in the Vratsa History Museum.

The Meshtchii Tower and the Kurt Pasha Tower, which were built in the 16th and 17th centuries, are two historical landmarks in the city. The city is also home to the Ethnographic Complex Saint Sophronius of Vratsa, which is a complex that includes three Revival houses, a school, and an Orthodox church. The city is home to even more churches, among which are the Saint Nicholas Church and the Saints Constantine and Helena Church.
